A branched polycarbonate resin, comprising a constituent unit represented by the general formula (I′):

• wherein R1 represents —O-A-R—, A represents an arylene group having 6 to 12 carbon atoms, R represents an alkylene group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, R is bonded to a Si atom, A may further have a substituent, and a plurality of R1's may be identical to or different from each other, R2, R3, and R4 each independently represent an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, a phenyl group, and/or a trimethylsiloxy group, and a plurality of R2's, a plurality of R3's, or a plurality of R4's may be identical to or different from each other, x represents a number of 1 or more and less than 2, y represents a number of 0 or more and 1 or less, and x+y is 1 or more and 2 or less, and a represents a number of 4 or more and 16 or less, and b represents a number of 0 or more and 8 or less.
