A method for promoting bone growth, increasing bone density or increasing bone strength, the method comprising administering to a subject in need thereof an effective amount of an antisense nucleic acid comprising a sequence complementary to a nucleotide sequence encoding any one of the following:
- activin A, activin B, or ActRIIA.
