Abstract
A gun smith platform includes a top plate. The top plate has a tool hole centrally disposed on the top plate that extends through the top plate through which a work piece attached to a work tool mounted to a bottom side of the top plate may extend, a plurality of alignment holes extending in a linear pattern from the tool hole, the alignment holes configured to receive alignment pins, at least one row of threaded mounting holes disposed parallel to the linear pattern of alignment holes, and a recessed track disposed parallel to the at least one row of threaded mounting holes. Four legs are attached to and supporting the top plate.
Claims20
A gun smith platform comprising:
- a top plate comprising:
- a tool hole centrally disposed on the top plate and extending through the top plate through which a work piece attached to a work tool mounted to a bottom side of the top plate may extend,
- a plurality of alignment holes extending in a linear pattern from the tool hole, the alignment holes configured to receive alignment pins,
- at least one row of threaded mounting holes disposed parallel to the linear pattern of alignment holes, and
- a recessed track disposed parallel to the at least one row of threaded mounting holes;
- and
- four legs attached to and supporting the top plate.
The template based gun finishing system comprising:
- a gun smith platform comprising:
- a top plate comprising:
- a tool hole centrally disposed on the top plate and extending through the top plate through which a work piece attached to a work tool mounted to a bottom side of the top plate may extend,
- a plurality of alignment holes extending in a linear pattern from the tool hole, the alignment holes configured to receive alignment pins,
- at least one row of threaded mounting holes disposed parallel to the linear pattern of alignment holes, and
- a recessed track disposed parallel to the at least one row of threaded mounting holes;
- and
- four legs attached to and supporting the top plate;
- and
- an x-y stage disposed on the top plate, the x-y stage comprising a front plate and a rear plate that are movable relative to one another, the rear plate comprising a rear plate rail on a first side of the rear plate that is received in the recessed track of the top plate and comprises a rear plate recessed track on a second side of the plate, and the front plate having a front plate rail that is received in the rear plate recessed track.
