Methods of preparing reactive mixtures of silanes and triethanolamine and polymers therefrom

A method comprising:

• forming a mixture of:
• (i) 10% by volume of an organosilane of structure (1),
• wherein R1 is —H or -Alkyl;
• and R2 is selected from the group consisting of —OH, —O-Alkyl, γ-chloropropyl- and γ-aminopropyl-;
• (ii) 10% by volume of triethanolamine;
• and
• (iii) methanol,
• wherein, the organosilane and the triethanolamine are present in a ratio of about 1:1 (v/v) in solution and mixed at room temperature.
