Abstract
A method of treatment of infection in a subject comprising administering to the subject a copolymer comprising an acrolein derived segment or a polyacrolein oligomer segment and a polyalkylene glycol oligomer segment, the copolymer having a molecular weight of no more than 1500 Daltons.
Claims23
A method of treating a parenteral bacterial infection in a subject comprising the step of:
- administering to the subject a copolymer comprising an acrolein derived segment and a polyalkylene glycol oligomer segment, the copolymer having a molecular weight of no more than 1000 Daltons.
A copolymer effective in the treatment of parenteral bacterial infection in a subject comprising a acrolein derived segment and a polyalkylene glycol oligomer segment, the copolymer having a molecular weight of no more than 1000 Daltons.
A process of preparing a copolymer comprising an acrolein derived segment and polyalkylene glycol oligomer and having molecular weight of no more than 1000, comprising the step of:
- polymerizing acrolein under conditions of alkaline catalysis at a pH no more than 12 in an aqueous solution comprising at least 20% w/w water and polyalkylene glycol oligomer in a weight ratio of polyalkylene glycol/acrolein of at least 4 to provide said copolymer.
