Adapter for power tool devices

A system comprising:

• a power tool battery pack has a first set of terminals;
• an adapter electrically connectable to the power tool battery pack and a power tool, where the power tool has a second set of terminals, the adapter comprising:
• a third set of terminals for electrically connecting with the first set of terminals,
• a fourth set of terminals for electrically connecting with the second set of terminals,
• a controller connected to the third and fourth set of terminals, and
• a wireless communication circuit connected to the controller for wireless communication with a computing device, the wireless communication circuit receiving data from the computing device,
• wherein the controller performs an action according to the data received from the computing device;
• wherein the controller is configured to
• receive a signal generated by an input device in response to a user input, and
• prevent the battery pack from providing power to the power tool in response to receiving the signal;
• wherein the power tool includes a work light and the action performed by the controller according to the data received from the computing device is controlling a work light duration of the work light of the power tool.

An adapter for electrically connecting a power tool battery pack with a power tool, where the power tool battery pack has a first set of terminals, and the power tool has a second set of terminals, the adapter comprising:

• a third set of terminals for electrically connecting with the first set of terminals;
• a fourth set of terminals for electrically connecting with the second set of terminals;
• a controller connected to the third and fourth set of terminals;
• and
• a wireless communication circuit connected to the controller for wireless communication with a computing device, the wireless communication circuit receiving data from the computing device wherein the controller performs an action according to the data received from the computing device;
• wherein the controller is configured to
• receive a signal generated by an input device in response to a user input, and
• prevent the battery pack from providing power to the power tool in response to receiving the signal;
• wherein the power tool includes a work light and the action performed by the controller according to the data received from the computing device is controlling a work light duration of the work light of the power tool.
