Abstract
An NMR analysis device, method and probe, including a frame, a sample-holder (12) comprising a rotor (31), suitable for receiving a sample of material (15) to be analyzed, a bearing (13) for rotationally guiding the sample-holder (12) relative to the frame, a turbine (14) kinematically linked with the rotor, the turbine having a geometry such that it allows an isentropic expansion of a third fluid (M3) which passes through it, and a fourth element for channeling (24, 23) a fourth gaseous flow (M4) of fluid downstream of the expansion turbine (14) or for channeling a sixth gaseous flow (M6) of fluid downstream of the rotor (31) and stator (30) of the sample-holder (12).
Claims26
NMR analysis device comprising a fluid circulation circuit and components including a compressor and a NMR analysis probe,
- the NMR analysis probe comprising:
- a frame;
- a sample-holder comprising a rotor and a stator arranged in the frame, suitable for receiving a sample of material to be analysed, wherein the sample-holder is configured to allow a first fluid to bring the sample to a given temperature;
- a bearing arranged in the frame between the rotor and the stator for rotationally guiding the sample-holder relative to the frame, wherein the sample-holder is configured to allow a second fluid to provide the bearing;
- and
- a turbine kinematically linked with the rotor, the turbine having a geometry that allows an isentropic expansion of a third fluid which passes through the turbine, and
- the NMR analysis device comprising:
- an element for channelling (i) a fourth fluid which is a gaseous flow of fluid resulting from the third fluid downstream of the expansion turbine or for channelling (ii) a combined gaseous flow of fluid resulting from the first, second, and fourth fluids downstream of the rotor and stator of the sample-holder,
- wherein the channelling element is configured so that the fourth fluid is recovered and conducted to another of the components of the NMR analysis device.
NMR analysis method for analyzing by NMR a solid sample arranged in a sample-holder of a NMR analysis device comprising the sample-holder and other components, the method comprising:
- generating first, second and third fluids which are high-pressure gaseous flows from at least one high-pressure gaseous fluid;
- creating a bearing for guiding the sample-holder by the second fluid which is a cooled high-pressure gaseous flow, rotating the sample-holder by passing the third fluid which is a cooled high-pressure third gaseous flow in an expansion turbine which drives the sample-holder, and cooling the sample-holder by the first fluid which is a cooled high-pressure gaseous flow, and
- channelling (i) a fourth fluid which is a gaseous flow resulting from the third fluid downstream of the expansion turbine, and/or (ii) a combined gaseous flow of fluid resulting from the first, second, and fourth fluids downstream of a rotor and stator of the sample-holder,
- so that the fourth fluid is recovered and conducted to another of the components of the NMR analysis device.
NMR analysis device comprising a NMR analysis probe, the NMR analysis probe comprising:
- a frame;
- a sample-holder comprising a rotor and a stator arranged in the frame, suitable for receiving a sample of material to be analysed, wherein the sample-holder is configured to allow a first fluid to bring the sample to a given temperature;
- a bearing arranged in the frame between the rotor and the stator for rotationally guiding the sample-holder relative to the frame, wherein the sample-holder is configured to allow a second fluid to provide the bearing;
- a turbine kinematically linked with the rotor, the turbine having a geometry that allows an isentropic expansion of a third fluid which passes through the turbine, and
- an element for channelling (i) a fourth fluid which is a gaseous flow of fluid resulting from the third fluid downstream of the expansion turbine or (ii) a combined gaseous flow of fluid resulting from the first, second, and fourth fluids downstream of the rotor and stator of the sample-holder,
- wherein the NMR analysis device further comprising a compression module and a heat exchanger,
- wherein the first and second fluids which are gaseous flows and transfer, respectively upstream of the bearing and of the sample-holder, heat to the fourth fluid and/or the combined fluid which are gaseous flows.
