Abstract
Examples of the present disclosure are related to systems and methods for lighting fixtures. More particularly, embodiments disclose lighting fixtures utilizing metal core PCB (MCPCB) for optical controls.
Claims20
A system for optically controlling a light pattern comprising
- a substrate with a substrate length;
- at least one light source positioned on a center panel of the substrate, wherein the at least one light source is configured to emit light on an area of distribution;
- first bends extending along a longitudinal axis of the substrate on both sides of the at least one light source, the first bends having a first angle;
- first panels on the substrate having first ends positioned adjacent to the first bends, the first panels having a first length and a first height, wherein a first distance from the first bends to second ends of the first panels determine the area of distribution of light emitted from the at least one light source, the first height being a vertical distances from the substrate to the seconds ends, wherein the first height impacts a mechanical strength of the system, wherein the first angle and the first height are modified based in part on the substrate length.

A method for optically controlling a light pattern for a system, comprising:
- positioning at least one light source positioned on a center panel of a substrate;
- creating first bends that extend along a longitudinal axis of the substrate on both sides of the at least one light source, the first bends having a first angle;
- determining an area of distribution of light emitted from the at least one light source;
- determining a substrate length of the substrate;
- forming first panels on the substrate when creating the bends, the first panels having first ends positioned adjacent to the first bends, the first panels having a first length and a first height, wherein a first distance from the first bends to second ends of the first panels, the first height being a vertical distances from the substrate to the seconds ends, wherein the first height impacts a mechanical strength of the system;
- increasing the first length to increase an effect of the light emitted from the at least one light source on the area of distribution;
- and
- modifying the first angle to change the first height based in part on the substrate length.
