Abstract
A golf ball with a center core comprising polybutadiene and a clay material in an amount ranging from 0.4 to 2.5 weight percent of the center core is disclosed herein. Alternatively, the golf ball has a mantle layer with a blend of ionomer materials and a clay material in an amount ranging from 0.4 to 2.5 weight percent of the mantle layer.
Claims11
A golf ball comprising:
- a center core comprising more than 60 weight percent of polybutadiene, 10-50 weight percent of zinc diacrylate, 1-30-weight percent of zinc oxide, 1-20 weight percent of zinc stearate, 0.1-10 weight percent of a peroxide initiator, 0-10 weight percent of zinc pentachlorothiophenol, and 0.4 to 2.5 weight percent of an octadecyl amine (ODA) modified clay material;
- and
- a cover layer disposed over the center core.
A golf ball comprising:
- a center core comprising polybutadiene
- a mantle layer comprising a blend of ionomer materials and a clay material modified with silane and octadecyl amine in an amount ranging from 0.4 to 2.5 weight percent of the mantle layer;
- and
- a cover layer disposed over the center core.
