Abstract
A method of forming a golf ball is disclosed herein. The method includes injecting a cover mixture into a mold to form a cover mixture comprising a thermoplastic polyurethane resin and a polyahl, subjecting the golf ball to a polyisocyanated solution to create a golf ball with a polyisocyanated cover, and heating the golf ball or polyisocyanated cover to remove a solvent component of the polyisocyanated solution and promote the reaction of the polyisocyanate with the cover mixture and polyahl.

A method for forming a golf ball, the method comprising:
- injecting a cover mixture into a mold over a golf ball precursor product to form a covered golf ball, the cover mixture comprising from 80 to 99.99 weight percent of a thermoplastic polyurethane resin and from 0.01 to 20 weight percent of a polyol polyester with 2,2-bis(methylol)propionic acid, wherein the golf ball precursor product is a core with an inner layer;
- subjecting the covered golf ball to a polyisocyanated solution to create a golf ball with a polyisocyanated cover, the a polyisocyanated solution comprising 4,4′-diphenylmethane diisocyanate;
- heating the golf ball with the polyisocyanated cover to remove a solvent component of the polyisocyanated solution and promote the reaction of the polyisocyanate with the cover mixture.
