The present application discloses a method for treating microbial infection using an antimicrobial composition comprises antimicrobial peptide which contains at least one VGFPV motif.

A method of treating a gram negative microbial infection, comprising:
- administering to a subject in need thereof an effective amount of an antimicrobial peptide comprising:
- the amino acid sequence of VGFPVAAVGFPV (SEQ ID NO:
- 3);
- one of more targeting domains;
- and
- an Fc region, wherein the Fc region is linked to the one or more targeting domains.
