Abstract
Use of a compound having the formula (I) in a medicament for the prevention or treatment of a disease caused by oral bacteria in an animal wherein R1 is a straight or branched alkyl group containing 8 to 16 carbon atoms at the 2- or 3-position of the morpholino ring, and R2 is a straight or branched alkyl group containing 2 to 10 carbon atoms, substituted with a hydroxy group except in the alpha-position, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.

A composition comprising a morpholino compound having the formula (I), for use in the treatment of gingivitis and for concomitant treatment of halitosis in a companion animal
- wherein R1 is a straight or branched alkyl group containing 8 to 16 carbon atoms at the 2- or 3-position of the morpholino ring, and R2 is a straight or branched alkyl group containing 2 to 10 carbon atoms, substituted with a hydroxy group except in the alpha-position, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, the composition being coated onto or infused into an animal chew, wherein the composition is infused into the animal chew by soaking the animal chew in the compound of formula (I) and allowing the animal chew to dry.
