Abstract
A spine stabilization system having a base plate having a plurality of screw holes and a plurality of corresponding screw locking mechanisms. The present invention also provides an extension plate having a plurality of screw holes and corresponding screw locking mechanisms. The extension plate is dimensioned and configured with an extension portion, the extension portion having a screw hole and a screw locking mechanism and a finger portion having a connection element and to contact and connect with the base plate. The base plate is provided a graft window having edges, wherein at least one of the edges being configured to receive and connect with the connection element.
Claims20
A spine stabilization system comprising:
- a base plate comprising a proximal end, a distal end, a plurality of screw holes for receiving screws therein, and one or more windows;
- an extension plate configured to attach to the base plate, wherein the extension plate comprises a proximal end, a distal end, a plurality of screw holes for receiving screws therein, wherein the proximal end of the extension plate comprises a finger portion connectable to the base plate, wherein the finger portion is received through at least one of the one or more windows of the base plate;
- one or more screws insertable into either the base plate or the extension plate;
- and an instrument for implanting either the base plate, the extension plate, or both, wherein the instrument comprises a proximal portion and a distal portion, wherein the distal portion comprises an end that is configured to couple with a receiving hole formed in the base plate and/or extension plate;
- wherein the receiving hole is formed in the base plate and/or extension plate.
A spine stabilization system comprising:
- a base plate comprising a proximal end, a distal end, a plurality at least two screw holes for receiving screws therein, and one or more windows;
- an extension plate configured to attach to the base plate, wherein the extension plate comprises a proximal end, a distal end, a plurality of screw holes for receiving screws therein, wherein the proximal end of the extension plate comprises a finger portion connectable to the base plate, wherein the finger portion is received through at least one of the one or more windows of the base plate;
- one or more screws insertable into either the base plate or the extension plate;
- and
- an instrument for implanting either the base plate, the extension plate, or both, wherein the instrument comprises a proximal portion and a distal portion, wherein the distal portion comprises an end that is configured to couple with a receiving hole formed in the base plate and/or extension plate;
- wherein the receiving hole is formed in the base plate and/or extension plate.
