Abstract
The disclosed automatic calibration systems and methods provide a repeatable way to detect internal catheter reflections and to shift the internal catheter reflections to calibrate an image.
Claims13
A system for automatic calibration, the system comprising:
- a catheter;
- an OCT imager configured to take images in the catheter;
- and
- a computer system connected to the OCT imager, the computer system comprising a memory and a processor configured to:
- perform an initial calibration of the catheter, the calibration including:
- averaging an OCT image frame to selectively enhance high intensity image features;
- comparing a value of the image features to a pre-calibrated value;
- and
- shifting the OCT image based on the comparison;
- monitor internal catheter reflections of a calibration position;
- determine if the calibration position needs updating on an image frame;
- and
- update the calibration position on a frame-by-frame basis.
