Abstract
An aqueous disinfectant solution comprising peroxyacetic acid; hydrogen peroxide; and a carbonate buffer is provided.
Claims22
A method of disinfecting an article comprising contacting the article with an aqueous disinfectant solution comprising from 0.10 to 0.30 wt % peroxyacetic acid;
- hydrogen peroxide;
- and a carbonate buffer in an amount sufficient to provide a pH of between 5 to 7;
- and wherein the weight ratio of hydrogen peroxide to peroxyacetic acid is 15:1 or greater;
- and wherein the carbonate buffer is provided to the aqueous disinfectant solution as at least two salts comprising i) hydrogencarbonate anions and hydroxide anions or ii) hydrogencarbonate anions and carbonate anions.
