Abstract
A novel maize variety designated PH42V3 and seed, plants and plant parts thereof are provided. Methods for producing a maize plant comprise crossing maize variety PH42V3 with another maize plant are provided. Methods for producing a maize plant containing in its genetic material one or more traits introgressed into PH42V3 through backcross conversion and/or transformation, and to the maize seed, plant and plant part produced thereby are provided. Hybrid maize seed, plants or plant parts are produced by crossing the variety PH42V3 or a locus conversion of PH42V3 with another maize variety.
Claims20
A seed, plant, plant part, or plant cell of inbred maize variety PH42V3, representative seed of the variety having been deposited under ATCC accession number PTA-124764.
An F1 hybrid seed produced by crossing a plant or plant part of inbred maize variety PH42V3, representative seed of the variety having been deposited under ATCC accession number PTA-124764 with a different maize plant, wherein inbred maize variety PH42V3 further comprises a transgene that is inherited by the seed, wherein the transgene was introduced into inbred maize variety PH42V3 by backcrossing or genetic transformation.
A converted seed, plant, plant part or plant cell of inbred maize variety PH42V3, representative seed of the maize variety PH42V3 having been deposited under ATCC accession number PTA-124764, wherein the converted seed, plant, plant part or plant cell further comprises a locus conversion, and wherein the plant or a plant grown from the converted seed, plant part or plant cell comprises the locus conversion and otherwise comprises all of the physiological and morphological characteristics of maize variety PH42V3 listed in Table 1 when grown under the same environmental conditions.
