A novel maize variety designated X05M984 and seed, plants and plant parts thereof are produced by crossing inbred maize varieties. Methods for producing a maize plant by crossing hybrid maize variety X05M984 with another maize plant are disclosed. Methods for producing a maize plant containing in its genetic material one or more traits introgressed into X05M984 through backcrossing or genetic transformation, and to the maize seed, plant and plant part produced thereby are described. Maize variety X05M984, the seed, the plant produced from the seed, and variants, mutants, and minor modifications of maize variety X05M984 are provided. Methods for producing maize varieties derived from maize variety X05M984 and methods of using maize variety X05M984 are disclosed.
A seed of hybrid maize variety X05M984, representative seed produced by crossing a first plant of variety PH2D58 with a second plant of variety PH1W4R, wherein representative seed of the varieties PH2D58 and PH1W4R have been deposited under ATCC Accession Numbers PTA-124436 and PTA-121351, respectively.
A seed of hybrid maize variety X05M984 further comprising a single locus conversion, wherein a plant grown from the seed comprises a trait conferred by the single locus conversion, and wherein the seed is produced by crossing a first plant of variety PH2D58 with a second plant of variety PH1W4R, wherein at least one of the varieties further comprises the single locus conversion, and wherein representative seed of the varieties PH2D58 and PH1W4R have been deposited under ATCC Accession Numbers PTA-124436 and PTA-121351, respectively.
A method for producing a hybrid maize variety X05M984 seed further comprising a locus conversion, the method comprising crossing a first plant of variety PH2D58 with a second plant of variety PH1W4R, representative seed of the varieties PH2D58 and PH1W4R having been deposited under ATCC Accession Numbers PTA-124436 and PTA-121351, respectively, wherein at least one of the varieties PH2D58 and PH1W4R further comprises the locus conversion.
