Method of reconditioning an electronic processing device

A method of assessing suitability of a component for assembly in a mobile electronic processing device, the method comprising the steps of:

• obtaining a component of a mobile electronic processing device;
• subjecting said component to a visual test comprising one or more of:
• visually assessing a colour of the component against an expected colour;
• visually assessing presence and/or quality of indicia, trade names or logos on one or more surfaces of the component;
• visually assessing presence or absence of expected features on the component;
• and visually assessing the presence of features not expected on the component;
• and
• assessing test data derived from said vision test to determine to a selected or calculated degree of confidence whether or not the tested component is to be considered as a suitable component for assembly in a mobile electronic processing device of a type to which the tested component belongs, wherein said test data is assessed against vison assessment data compiled from one or more components of the same type as the tested component known, considered or assessed to be authentic and/or from one or more components of the same type known with absolute certainty to be authentic.
