Abstract
A process of forming a resveratrol-based flame retardant small molecule with a phosphonate/phosphinate molecule that includes a chloride group and a terminal functional group.
Claims14
A process comprising forming a resveratrol-based flame retardant small molecule by chemically reacting a resveratrol molecule with a phosphonate molecule that includes a chloride group and a terminal functional group, the terminal functional group selected from the group consisting of:
- an epoxide group, a lactone group, an amine group, and a carboxyl group.
A process comprising:
- forming a resveratrol-based flame retardant small molecule by chemically reacting a resveratrol molecule with a phosphonate molecule that includes a chloride group and a terminal functional group, the terminal functional group selected from the group consisting of:
- an allyl group, an epoxide group, a lactone group, an amine group, and a carboxyl group;
- and
- utilizing the resveratrol-based flame retardant small molecule as a flame retardant additive to a polymeric material.
