## Abstract

An electronic tracking system for obtaining geographic or other information about a targeted object from deployed ordnance. Ordnance can be delivered from any suitable weapon or weapons system, including hand-held or artillery guns, manned or unmanned aircraft, etc. The ordnance can be substantially any projectile targeted at a human, animal or other object. Once deployed, the ordnance can provide a variety of information about location, the target, the shooter, or the ordnance itself. Such information can be transmitted at any suitable interval, even time-delayed or upon a condition. Preferably, the system also contains a receiver to receive the transmitted information. Once received, the information can be then provided to users in any appropriate fashion.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A projectile configured to be launched by a launching device, wherein the projectile comprises:
a first sensor that provides an information on a physiologic characteristic of the target;
a transmitter configured to electronically transmit the information following contact of the projectile with the target; and
an interrogation receiving circuit.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The projectile of claim 1, wherein the physiologic characteristic of the target is selected from the group consisting of blood pressure, blood oxygen, or heart beat.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The projectile of claim 1, wherein the transmitter is further configured to electronically transmit at least one of a location of the transmitter, a direction the transmitter is moving, or a speed at which the transmitter is moving.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The projectile of claim 1, wherein the transmitter decouples from a remainder of the projectile following contact of the projectile with the target.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The projectile of claim 1, further comprising an explosive propulsion charge.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The projectile of claim 1, wherein the transmitter is further configured to electronically transmit at least two of a motion, a direction, a blood pressure, blood oxygen, or a heart beat.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The projectile of claim 1, further comprising a power source configured to provide power to the transmitter.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The projectile of claim 1, wherein the transmitter electronically transmits the information over a wave frequency that changes over time.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The projectile of claim 1, wherein the transmitter electronically transmits the information with a periodicity that changes over time.

### Claim 10 (depends on 1)

The projectile of claim 1, wherein the transmitter electronically transmits a no heart beat signal.

### Claim 11 (depends on 1)

The projectile of claim 1, wherein the transmitter electronically transmits the information after a delay of a set time period.

### Claim 12 (depends on 1)

The projectile of claim 1, wherein the interrogation receiving circuit receives an instruction to at least one of (1) stop or change a wave frequency of the transmitter; (2) stop or change an interval of transmission from the transmitter; or (3) change the type of information transmitted by the transmitter.

### Claim 13 (depends on 1)

The projectile of claim 1, wherein transmission of the information is powered at least in part by chemical energy derived from an interaction with a target.

### Claim 14 (depends on 1)

The projectile of claim 1, wherein the transmitter is further configured to use at least a portion of the target as an antenna.

### Claim 15 (depends on 1)

The projectile of claim 1, wherein the transmitter is further configured to electronically transmit an additional information on a characteristic of the projectile.

### Claim 16 (depends on 1)

The projectile of claim 1, wherein the transmitter is further configured to electronically transmit an additional information on a characteristic of the transmitter.

### Claim 17

A projectile configured to be launched by a launching device, wherein the projectile comprises:
a first sensor that provides an information on a physiologic characteristic of the target; and
a transmitter configured to electronically transmit the information following contact of the projectile with the target, wherein the transmitter is configured to electronically transmit the information at a first time T1 after contact of the projectile with the target at T0, and electronically transmit an additional information at a second time T2 following T1.

### Claim 18 (depends on 17)

The projectile of claim 17, wherein the information is different from the additional information.
