Service apparatus for an escalator or motorized stairway

An apparatus for servicing a moving stairway, comprising:

• a frame comprising a set of guide arms;
• a first service system movably connected to the frame, the first service system comprising:
• a set of arms pivotally connected to the set of guide arms;
• a set of rail guides connected to the set of arms;
• a first servicing unit slidably engaged with the set of rail guides;
• a set of slide arms attached to the first servicing unit;
• and,
• a set of guides rotatably connected to the set of slide arms;
• a second service system removably mounted to the frame;
• and,
• wherein the first service system and the second service system simultaneously engage the moving stairway.

An apparatus for servicing a moving stairway, comprising:

• a frame comprising a set of guide arms;
• a first service system movably connected to the frame and comprising:
• a set of interchangeable first servicing units, each interchangeable first servicing unit of the set of interchangeable first servicing units having a different width;
• a second service system removably mounted to the frame;
• and,
• wherein the first service system and the second service system simultaneously engage the moving stairway.

An apparatus for servicing a moving stairway, comprising:

• a frame comprising a set of guide arms;
• a first service system movably connected to the frame;
• a second service system removably mounted to the frame, wherein the second service system comprises:
• a set of interchangeable second service units, each interchangeable second service unit of the set of interchangeable second service units having a different width;
• and,
• wherein the first service system and the second service system simultaneously engage the moving stairway.

An apparatus for servicing a moving stairway, comprising:

• a frame comprising a set of guide arms;
• a locking mechanism operatively connected to the frame, comprising:
• a member guide;
• and,
• a set of elongated members slidably engaged with the member guide and outwardly extendable from the frame, wherein the locking mechanism is slidably supported by one or more wheels, whereby the apparatus is laterally indexed between a plurality of positions;
• a first service system movably connected to the frame;
• a second service system removably mounted to the frame;
• and,
• wherein the first service system and the second service system simultaneously engage the moving stairway.
