## Abstract

Oral dosage forms of osteoclast inhibitors, such as neridronic acid, in an acid form or a salt form can be used to treat or alleviate pain or related conditions, such as allodynia associated with complex regional pain syndrome.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method of treating severe pain associated with complex regional pain syndrome, comprising administering a parenteral dose of 5 mg to 500 mg of neridronic acid, in a salt form or an acid form, to a human being suffering from severe pain associated with complex regional pain syndrome, wherein the human being has a pain score of at least about 7 on the 0-10 numeric rating scale.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the parenteral dose is administered in divided doses of about 10 mg to about 150 mg of the neridronic acid.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the human being is suffering from complex regional pain syndrome type I.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the human being is suffering from complex regional pain syndrome type II.

### Claim 5

A method of treating hyperalgesia associated with complex regional pain syndrome, comprising administering a parenteral dose of 5 mg to 500 mg of neridronic acid, in a salt form or an acid form, to a human being suffering from hyperalgesia associated with complex regional pain syndrome.

### Claim 6 (depends on 5)

The method of claim 5, wherein the parenteral dose is administered in divided doses of about 10 mg to about 150 mg of the neridronic acid.

### Claim 7 (depends on 5)

The method of claim 5, wherein the human being is suffering from complex regional pain syndrome type I.

### Claim 8 (depends on 5)

The method of claim 5, wherein the human being is suffering from complex regional pain syndrome type II.

### Claim 9

A method of treating allodynia associated with complex regional pain syndrome, comprising administering a parenteral dose of 5 mg to 500 mg of neridronic acid, in a salt form or an acid form, to a human being suffering from allodynia associated with complex regional pain syndrome.

### Claim 10 (depends on 9)

The method of claim 9, wherein the parenteral dose is administered in divided doses of about 10 mg to about 150 mg of the neridronic acid.

### Claim 11 (depends on 9)

The method of claim 9, wherein the human being is suffering from complex regional pain syndrome type I.

### Claim 12 (depends on 9)

The method of claim 9, wherein the human being is suffering from complex regional pain syndrome type II.

### Claim 13

A method of treating edema associated with complex regional pain syndrome, comprising administering a parenteral dose of 5 mg to 500 mg of neridronic acid, in a salt form or an acid form, to a human being suffering from edema associated with complex regional pain syndrome.

### Claim 14 (depends on 13)

The method of claim 13, wherein the parenteral dose is administered in divided doses of about 10 mg to about 150 mg of the neridronic acid.

### Claim 15 (depends on 13)

The method of claim 13, wherein the human being is suffering from complex regional pain syndrome type I.

### Claim 16 (depends on 13)

The method of claim 13, wherein the human being is suffering from complex regional pain syndrome type II.
