## Abstract

A novel soybean variety, designated 5PLET90 is provided. Also provided are the seeds of soybean variety 5PLET90, cells from soybean variety 5PLET90, plants of soybean 5PLET90, and plant parts of soybean variety 5PLET90. Methods provided include producing a soybean plant by crossing soybean variety 5PLET90 with another soybean plant, methods for introgressing a transgenic trait, a mutant trait, and/or a native trait into soybean variety 5PLET90, methods for producing other soybean varieties or plant parts derived from soybean variety 5PLET90, and methods of characterizing soybean variety 5PLET90. Soybean seed, cells, plants, germplasm, breeding lines, varieties, and plant parts produced by these methods and/or derived from soybean variety 5PLET90 are further provided.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A plant or a seed of soybean variety 5PLET90, representative seed of the variety having been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-125161.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

A soybean plant, or part thereof, produced by growing the seed of claim 1.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

A method for producing treated seed, the method comprising applying a seed treatment to the seed of claim 1.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

A soybean seed obtained by introducing a transgene into the plant or seed of claim 1, wherein the soybean seed produces a soybean plant otherwise comprising all the physiological and morphological characteristics of soybean variety 5PLET90 when grown under the same environmental conditions.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The seed of claim 4, wherein the transgene confers a trait selected from the group consisting of male sterility, a site-specific recombination site, abiotic stress tolerance, altered phosphorus, altered antioxidants, altered fatty acids, altered essential amino acids, altered carbohydrates, herbicide resistance, insect resistance, and disease resistance.

### Claim 6 (depends on 4)

The seed of claim 4, wherein the transgene is introduced by backcrossing or transformation.

### Claim 7 (depends on 4)

A soybean plant produced by growing the seed of claim 4.

### Claim 8 (depends on 4)

A method for producing treated seed, the method comprising applying a seed treatment to the seed of claim 4.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

A method for developing a second soybean plant comprising applying plant breeding techniques to the plant of claim 1, wherein application of the techniques results in development of the second soybean plant.

### Claim 10 (depends on 1)

A method for producing soybean seed, the method comprising crossing two soybean plants and harvesting the resultant soybean seed, wherein at least one soybean plant is the soybean plant of claim 1.

### Claim 11 (depends on 10)

The F1 soybean seed produced by the method of claim 10.

### Claim 12 (depends on 11)

A method for developing a second soybean plant, the method comprising applying plant breeding techniques to a plant grown from the seed of claim 11, wherein application of the techniques results in development of the second soybean plant.

### Claim 13 (depends on 1)

A method comprising isolating nucleic acids from the plant, plant part, or seed of claim 1.

### Claim 14 (depends on 1)

A method of producing a soybean plant comprising a locus conversion, the method comprising introducing a locus conversion into the plant of claim 1, wherein the locus conversion confers a trait selected from the group consisting of male sterility, a site-specific recombination site, abiotic stress tolerance, altered phosphorus, altered antioxidants, altered fatty acids, altered essential amino acids, altered carbohydrates, herbicide resistance, insect resistance, and disease resistance.

### Claim 15 (depends on 14)

A soybean plant produced by the method of claim 14, wherein the soybean plant is resistant to a herbicide, a disease or an insect and otherwise comprises all of the physiological and morphological characteristics of soybean variety 5PLET90 when grown under the same environmental conditions.

### Claim 16 (depends on 15)

The soybean plant of claim 15, wherein the locus conversion comprises a transgene encoding a Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) endotoxin.

### Claim 17 (depends on 14)

The method of claim 14, wherein the locus conversion is introduced by backcrossing or transformation.

### Claim 18

A converted seed, plant, plant part or plant cell, of soybean variety 5PLET90, representative seed of the soybean variety 5PLET90 having been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-125161, wherein the converted seed, plant, plant part or plant cell of soybean variety 5PLET90 comprises a single locus conversion.

### Claim 19 (depends on 18)

A method for producing treated seed, the method comprising applying a seed treatment to the converted seed of claim 18.

### Claim 20

A soybean plant, or part thereof, expressing all the physiological and morphological characteristics of soybean variety 5PLET90, representative seed of the variety having been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-125161.
