Abstract
A method is disclosed for preparing molecular sieve SSZ-85 in the absence of a source of fluoride ions.

A method of preparing molecular sieve SSZ-85 comprising contacting under crystallization conditions a reaction mixture comprising a source of cobalt, a source of aluminum, a source of phosphorus, and an ionic liquid comprising a 1,3-diisopropylimidazolium cation;
- wherein the reaction mixture is substantially free of fluoride ions.
