Abstract
Systems and methods for payload encoding and decoding are disclosed. An example method to decode audio data includes receiving audio data having protected information embedded in the audio data; receiving a license file containing a first portion of a set of information required to access the protected information embedded in the audio data; processing the license file to obtain at least one of decoding information, message codes, a decoding algorithm or diagnostic information; producing a stream of symbol values for each code symbol included in the received audio signal; accumulating the stream of symbol values in a storage device; detecting the presence of an encoded message; outputting the detected message.
Claims20
A computer readable storage device comprising instructions which, when executed, cause a processor to at least:
- determine, based on a message to be encoded into audio data, encoding data to select frequencies for encoding the message into the audio data, the encoding data including a previously compiled table of information to encode the message into the audio data;
- generate a license file to correspond to the message to be encoded into the audio data by an encoding device, the license file including the encoding data necessary to select frequencies for encoding the message into the audio data;
- and
- associate the license file with the message and with the encoding device to use the previously compiled table of information to enable the encoding device to encode the message into the audio data using the encoding data.
An apparatus comprising:
- means for determining, based on a message to be encoded into audio data, encoding data to select frequencies for encoding the message into the audio data, the encoding data including a previously compiled table of information to encode the message into the audio data;
- means for generating a license file to correspond to the message to be encoded into the audio data by an encoding device, the license file including the encoding data necessary to select frequencies for encoding the message into the audio data;
- and
- means for associating the license file with the message and with the encoding device to enable the encoding device to use the previously compiled table of information to encode the message into the audio data using the encoding data.
An apparatus to decode audio, the apparatus comprising:
- means for processing a received license file to obtain information to access a message encoded in received audio, the information including at least one of decoding information, message codes, a decoding algorithm or diagnostic information;
- means for detecting the message encoded in the audio based on the information obtained from the license file;
- and
- means for outputting the detected message.
A computer readable storage device comprising instructions which, when executed, cause a processor to at least:
- process a received license file to obtain information to access a message encoded in received audio, the information including at least one of decoding information, message codes, a decoding algorithm or diagnostic information;
- detect the message encoded in the audio based on the obtained information;
- and
- output the detected message.
