Electrophotographic image forming apparatus

A drum supporting member that is usable with an image forming apparatus for forming an image on a recording material and to which a developing cartridge is detachably mountable, the drum supporting member comprising:

• a photosensitive drum;
• a frame for rotatably supporting the photosensitive drum;
• a mounting portion provided in the frame for detachably mounting the developing cartridge, the developing cartridge including a developing roller for developing a latent image;
• a contacting member contactable with the developing cartridge, the contacting member being movable between a first position and a second position, wherein (i) when the developing cartridge is in a third position, the contacting member is in the first position and contacts the developing cartridge with the developing roller contacting the photosensitive drum, and (ii) when the developing cartridge is in a fourth position, which is different from the third position and is a position in which the developing cartridge is dismountable from the drum supporting member, the contacting member is in the second position and a contact surface of the contacting member contacts the developing cartridge;
• and
• an elastic member configured to urge the contacting member, wherein the elastic member is disposed below the contact surface when the developing cartridge is in the fourth position.
