Abstract
A developing cartridge may include a rotary gear rotatable about one axis and a detection gear rotatable about another axis. The detection gear is configured to be not rotatable with the rotary gear in a case where the rotary gear rotates from a first rotational position to a second rotational position, while being configured to be rotatable with the rotary gear in a case where the rotary gear rotates from the second rotational position to a third rotational position.

A developing cartridge comprising:
- a housing configured to accommodate developer therein;
- a first gear rotatable about a first axis extending in an extending direction from a first rotational position to a second rotational position and from the second rotational position to a third rotational position, the first gear including first gear teeth;
- and
- a detection gear rotatable about a second axis extending in the extending direction, the detection gear including:
- second gear teeth;
- and
- a protrusion extending in the extending direction, the protrusion being rotatable with the detection gear,
- wherein the second gear teeth disengage with the first gear teeth in a case where the first gear rotates from the first rotational position to the second rotational position,
- wherein the second gear teeth engage with the first gear teeth in a case where the first gear rotates from the second rotational position to the third rotational position,
- wherein the detection gear is not rotatable with the first gear in a case where the first gear rotates from the first rotational position to the second rotational position, and
- wherein the detection gear is rotatable with the first gear in a case where the first gear rotates from the second rotational position to the third rotational position.

- wherein the second gear teeth engage with the first gear teeth in a case where the first gear rotates from the second rotational position to the third rotational position.
