Compounds for treating eye disorders or diseases

A method of treating an eye disease or disorder in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of a compound of Formula (Ic):

• or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof,
• wherein the eye disease or disorder is selected from the group consisting of cataracts, congenital cataracts, cortical opacities, posterior subcapsular cataracts, presbyopia, nuclear sclerosis, retinal degenerative disorder, Refsum disease, Smith-Lemli-Opitz syndrome, Schnyder crystalline corneal dystrophy, drusen, age-related macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy;
• and wherein
• X is —C(R4)2—;
• each R4 is independently hydrogen, —ORe, optionally substituted C1-C6alkyl, or halogen;
• each Re is independently hydrogen, optionally substituted C1-C6alkyl, optionally substituted C1-C6heteroalkyl, optionally substituted C3-C10cycloalkyl, optionally substituted C2-C10heterocycloalkyl, optionally substituted aryl, or optionally substituted heteroaryl;
• Y is —CH2—, or —CH(R5)—;
• R5 is optionally substituted C1-C6alkyl or halogen;
• R6 and R7 are each independently C1-C3alkyl;
• R8 is —ORh, or —N(Ri)2;
• Rh is hydrogen, optionally substituted C1-C6alkyl, optionally substituted C1-C6heteroalkyl, optionally substituted C3-C10cycloalkyl, optionally substituted C2-C10heterocycloalkyl, optionally substituted aryl, or optionally substituted heteroaryl;
• each Ri is independently hydrogen, optionally substituted C1-C6alkyl, optionally substituted C1-C6heteroalkyl, optionally substituted C3-C10cycloalkyl, optionally substituted C2-C10heterocycloalkyl, optionally substituted aryl, or optionally substituted heteroaryl;
• or two Ri are taken together with the N atom to which they are attached to form an optionally substituted heterocycloalkyl ring;
• R1 is —OR10, —SR10, —N(R10)2, or halogen;
• and each R10 is independently hydrogen, optionally substituted C1-C6alkyl, optionally substituted C1-C6heteroalkyl, optionally substituted C3-C10cycloalkyl, optionally substituted C2-C10heterocycloalkyl, optionally substituted aryl, or optionally substituted heteroaryl;
• or two R10 are taken together with the N atom to which they are attached to form an optionally substituted heterocycloalkyl ring.
