Abstract
An articulated vehicle having at least two vehicle parts which are connected to and articulated relative to each other is provided. The vehicle includes a front vehicle part and at least one rear vehicle part arranged behind the front vehicle part with respect to a longitudinal direction of the vehicle. The front vehicle part has a first drive unit including at least an electric motor and a first energy storage system; and at least one rear vehicle part has a drive unit including at least an electric motor and an energy storage system. Each rear vehicle part includes an individual electrical system that is galvanically isolated from the front vehicle part and from each other at least under normal driving conditions.
Claims15
An electric or hybrid electric vehicle having multiple drive units located in different parts of the vehicle, the vehicle comprising:
- a first driven axle driven by at least one electric drive unit, and
- at least one further driven axle driven by a further at least one electric drive unit,
- wherein, for each of the first driven axle and the at least one further driven axle, the at least one electric drive unit and the further at least one electric drive unit are each connected to a respective junction box and to at least one energy storage system by a respective DC bus to form a respective individual electrical system for each of the first driven axle and the at least one further driven axle, thereby providing a plurality of individual electrical systems each of the individual electrical systems having a DC bus, and wherein DC buses of the individual electrical systems are galvanically isolated from each other at least under predetermined driving conditions.
