Abstract
Provided are peptides that can inhibit collagen synthesis, processing and/or secretion. In some aspects, the therapeutic peptides may be used to treat a cancer such as, e.g., a pancreatic cancer or a glioblastoma.
Claims22
A method of treating a cancer in a subject, comprising administering to the subject a pharmacologically effective dose of an isolated peptide, wherein the peptide is less than 50 amino acids in length and comprises JM1 (VFFKGVKDRV;
- SEQ ID NO:1) or JM2 (VFFKGVKDRVKGKSD;
- SEQ ID NO:2), or a sequence having at least 90% sequence identity to JM1 (SEQ ID NO:1) or JM2 (SEQ ID NO:2);
- wherein the cancer is a glioblastoma, colon cancer, or a pancreatic cancer.
