Composition for treating headaches

A non-toxic solid pharmaceutical composition for oral administration, for reducing the incidence of migraine or cluster headaches, the composition containing one or more cysteine compound from the group of L-cysteine, D-cysteine and N-acetyl cysteine as active agents, characterized in that the cysteine compound is combined with one or more additional active agents, at least one of which being selected from the group of cystine, glutathione and methionine, the composition further containing one or more pharmaceutical additives, including one or more non-toxic carriers that provide controlled release of the active agents either into the saliva during at least 5 minutes in the conditions of the mouth or into the stomach during at least 15 minutes in the conditions of the stomach.
