Abstract
An electrosurgical controller with output RF energy control. At least some of the illustrative embodiments are electrosurgical controllers configured to change a first output voltage on the first active terminal relative to the first return terminal by selective control of a number of turns of the primary winding of a transformer used to create the output voltage.
Claims14
An electrosurgical controller comprising:
- a wand connector disposed on an outer surface of the electrosurgical controller, the wand connector configured to couple to a connector of an electrosurgical wand, and the wand connector comprising a plurality of electrical pins;
- and
- a voltage generator comprising:
- a first active terminal coupled to a first electrical pin of the wand connector;
- a first return terminal coupled to a second electrical pin of the wand connector;
- and
- a transformer comprising a primary winding and a secondary winding, the secondary winding defines the first active and first return terminals;
- the electrosurgical controller is configured to change a first output voltage on the first active terminal relative to the first return terminal by selective control of a number of turns of the primary winding used to create the output voltage.
