A novel maize variety designated X85K012 and seed, plants and plant parts thereof are produced by crossing inbred maize varieties. Methods for producing a maize plant by crossing hybrid maize variety X85K012 with another maize plant are disclosed. Methods for producing a maize plant containing in its genetic material one or more traits introgressed into X85K012 through backcross conversion and/or transformation, and to the maize seed, plant and plant part produced thereby. This invention relates to the maize variety X85K012, the seed, the plant produced from the seed, and variants, mutants, and minor modifications of maize variety X85K012. This invention further relates to methods for producing maize varieties derived from maize variety X85K012.
A seed of hybrid maize variety X85K012, representative seed produced by crossing a first plant of variety PH2G60 with a second plant of variety PH2TRR, wherein representative seed of the varieties PH2G60 and PH2TRR have been deposited under ATCC Accession Numbers PTA-123752 and PTA-124602, respectively.
A seed of hybrid maize variety X85K012 further comprising at least a first transgene, representative seed produced by crossing a first plant of variety PH2G60 with a second plant of variety PH2TRR, wherein representative seed of the varieties PH2G60 and PH2TRR have been deposited under ATCC Accession Numbers PTA-123752 and PTA-124602, respectively, and wherein a plant grown from the seed comprises a trait conferred the transgene and otherwise comprises all of the morphological and physiological characteristics of hybrid maize variety X85K012.
An F1 hybrid maize variety X85K012 seed further comprising a locus conversion, the seed being produced by crossing a first plant of variety PH2G60 with a second plant of variety PH2TRR;
