Abstract
Crosslinkable polycarbonate resins having improved properties are disclosed. The crosslinkable polycarbonate resins are formed from a reaction of at least a benzophenone, a first dihydroxy chain extender, and a carbonate precursor, and may include a second dihydroxy chain extender as well.
Claims22
A cross-linkable polycarbonate resin that is formed from a reaction of:
- a dihydroxybenzophenone;
- a first dihydroxy chain extender;
- a second dihydroxy chain extender;
- and
- a carbonate precursor;
- wherein the cross-linkable polycarbonate resin is free of units derived from tetrahalo bisphenol A.

A cross-linkable polycarbonate resin that is formed from a reaction of:
- a benzophenone;
- a dihydroxy chain extender;
- and
- a carbonate precursor;
- wherein the benzophenone is a monohydroxybenzophenone;
- the dihydroxy chain extender is bisphenol-A;
- and the reaction further comprises an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid.
4 more elements
A cross-linkable polycarbonate resin that is formed from a reaction of:
- a benzophenone;
- a dihydroxy chain extender;
- and
- a carbonate precursor;
- and
- wherein the benzophenone is a dihydroxybenzophenone;
- and the dihydroxy chain extender is 1,1-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)-1-phenyl-ethane (bisphenol-AP).
