Abstract
Pipe machining apparatuses are provided. In some aspects, a pipe machining apparatus may include a hinge to allow two sections of the pipe machining apparatus to move relative to one another. In another aspect, a support member may be provided to support a pipe machining apparatus on a surface. In a further aspect, a support member may be provided that allows lifting of a pipe machining apparatus in either a horizontal position or a vertical position.
Claims18
A support member for a pipe machining apparatus, the support member comprising:
- a coupling member configured to engage and couple the support member to the pipe machining apparatus;
- a body coupled to and extending from the coupling member;
- and
- a pad coupled to the body and configured to engage a surface upon which to support the pipe machining apparatus;
- wherein the coupling member includes a resilient member configured to engage the pipe machining apparatus.
A support member for a pipe machining apparatus, the support member comprising:
- a body including a first end and a second end;
- a coupling member coupled to and extending from the first end of the body, wherein the coupling member is configured to engage the pipe machining apparatus and couple the support member to the pipe machining apparatus;
- and
- a pad coupled to and extending beyond the second end of the body, wherein the pad is configured to engage a surface upon which to support the pipe machining apparatus;
- wherein the body defines an air exhausting cavity therein and the coupling member defines an aperture there through in fluid communication with the air exhausting cavity.
A pipe machining apparatus comprising:
- a frame defining an aperture therein;
- a tool carrier moveably coupled to the frame and configured to support a tool;
- and
- a support member including
- a body including a first end and a second end,
- a coupling member coupled to and extending from the first end of the body, and
- a pad coupled to the second end of the body and configured to engage a surface upon which to support the pipe machining apparatus;
- wherein the support member is selectively coupled to the frame such that the support member is coupled to the frame with the coupling member at least partially positioned in the aperture of the frame and the support member is uncoupled from the frame with the coupling member removed from the aperture;
- wherein the support member further comprises a resilient member engaging the coupling member, wherein the resilient member is positioned in the aperture of the frame and engages the frame with the support member coupled to the frame.
