Abstract
A device for operating an apparatus comprising a first controller configured to be controlled by a first control signal, a second controller configured to be controlled by a second control signal, a control unit operatively connected to the first controller and the second controller, wherein the first controller and the second controller are both configured to operate the apparatus.

A device for operating an apparatus of a vehicle comprising:
- a first controller configured to be controlled by a first control signal;
- a second controller configured to be controlled by a second control signal,
- wherein the first controller is configured to operate with a first set of hardware elements, the second controller is configured to operate with a second set of hardware elements that is different from the first set of hardware elements, and the number of hardware elements in the second set of hardware elements is less than the number of hardware elements in the first set of hardware elements;
- and
- a control unit operatively connected to the first controller and the second controller, and configured to generate the first control signal and the second control signal,
- wherein the first controller and the second controller are both configured to operate the apparatus.
